Striking and Fielding

Year 5 have also been learning the discipline striking and fielding, with the focus on cricket. In their lessons, they have been building their skills as fielders - following the path of the ball and always being ready to catch the ball. The children have thought about the strategies of the game cricket and thought about the best position to be in as a fielder to be ready to catch the ball. They have learnt the rules of cricket and have practiced applying them into their game play. The children have developed their batting technique and thought about the strategies that can be used in batting to outwit the fielders.
