Weekly Focused Assemblies 2024-2025
Week beginning 02/09/2024
In our very first assembly of the year this week, we welcomed the children back to Rednal Hill Juniors for the Autumn term. We explored some of the range of feelings and emotions we might experience coming back into school, or for some, starting in a new school. We linked this with our value of being an individual and thought about how our feelings and emotions differ from one another, making us all individuals from our very first day.
We thought about some of the positive things we might be looking forward to this year; making new friends, seeing old friends, new exciting topics and trips, setting new goals. We then thought about some things that might be daunting for us this year; a new classroom, missing our old teacher, wondering where we are sitting and who with. However we are feeling about this new year, it does mean we are all on a new journey and taking a new path.
Mrs Tilley then read 'The Path' by Bob Staake, a beautifully written and illustrated book highlighting the different terrain, obstacles, sights, experiences and choices to be made on a new path. That path might also surprise you! You may find yourself with a choice to make on a path that offers two directions, but we are all unique and will choose the path that is right for us. This may mean creating our very own pathways, facing challenges and enjoying the journey we have chosen for ourselves.
